I made it to New York City!
Two of my friends from the DC dance scene accompanied me to the famous Jimmy Anton’s Salsa Social tonight, where the dancing was incredible. To explain just how incredible it was, I danced for four and half hours before I took a break for long enough to realize that there were free muffins in the back. (As a college student, my free-food-finding-ability is usually pretty on point.)
Afterwards, we spent some time walking around Manhattan to see the city at night. We visited Times Square, walked by Fifth, checked out the Apple Store, and passed Central Park before heading back uptown on the subway to Columbia University. There I met up with a long time friend who is graciously hosting me during my NYC trip. He’s still working on his finals, but I’m looking forward to exploring more with him when he finishes tomorrow.
